The Salvation Army Angel Trees
Tuesday, November 21 – Monday, December 11
Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. Once a child or senior adult has been registered and accepted as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in our community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their family Christmas tree.
Chicago Ridge Mall invites shoppers to share the spirit of the season and adopt an individual from The Salvation Army’s Angel Trees and gift drop off will be located in the food court next to the Security Desk.
The trees are decorated with angel tags, containing the wish list of a registered angel who could be a child, aged newborn to 13, or a senior citizen. The angel tags are printed with an Angel’s name, age, gender, gift requests and a code number. Each person who selects a tag, purchases a gift or gifts for his/her Angel and returns the gift or gifts, unwrapped, to Chicago Ridge Mall.
The gifts are returned to The Salvation Army where they are sorted by their code numbers and distributed to the individuals.
